Manual lifting shutters

Manual lifting shutters are usually made up to the sizes of 2500mm x 2500mm and are mainly used to cover a doorway or window

they are spring loaded and come with 2 types of locks which are

  • bullet locks, a pin type lock that is simply pushed in and out
  • centre locks, these locks are for when a roller shutter needs to be opened from inside and outside

Chain lifting roller shutters

Roller shutters that are chain driven are normally for industrial purposes, again these roller shutters are spring loaded and are locked by simply locking the hand chain with a padlock.

Chain operated roller shutters can go up to larger sizes than the manual lifting shutters

Tube motor roller shutters

The tube motor is single phase (240v) and is situated inside the roller shutter barrel, these roller shutters can be used on any premises but should only used ideally a maximum of 5 times a day. The tube motor can come with a manual override in case of a power failure which enables you to wind the shutter up by hand. The tube motor can be used for almost any roller shutter sizes.These roller shutters are ideal for shops and garages and require no locks although locks can be fitted for extra security.

Old push up or chain operated roller shutters can be easily converted in to tube motor roller shutters.

Tube motor roller shutters come with three main types of switches which are

  • Key switches
  • Rocker switches
  • Remote controls
3 Phase roller shutter doors.

3 phase electric roller shutters (415v) are for the largest of roller shutters and for roller shutters that are going up and down many times a day. The motor is outbound (on view) and has a hand chain to manually lift the shutter in case of power failure.

These shutters can easily be fitted with extra safety devices and come with similar switches as the tube motor (see above)

3 phase motors are ideal for industrial premises

Chain operated roller shutters can be converted to 3 phase.

 

Roller shutter curtain

Roller shutter lath can be steel, aluminium or insulated.

The most poular and common type of lath is steel 75mm curved lath this can either be solid or perferated which has tiny holes with 40% visability. 75mm curved steel roller shutter lath comes in 22swg=0.7mm, 20swg=0.9mm and 18swg=1.2mm

Type of finish you require

All of our roller shutters come with a standard galvanised finish, this is a zink coating that acts to stop the steel corroding.

If you require a cleaner more stylish look then you may opt for a powder coated finish. This can be almost any colour that you require and is a harder finish than standard paint.
